Home battery systems let you keep the solar your panels make around lunchtime. Most families use the most power after dark, so the battery runs the oven and the air conditioner on stored solar instead of power bought back from the grid.
We install home battery systems across the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Toowoomba and the Sunshine Coast. Before recommending anything, our licensed electricians go through your power bills and check your existing solar and switchboard. Then we tell you straight whether a battery is worth it for your home.

What a battery does for you depends on your system and on how your household uses power. These are the reasons that come up most often.
Surplus power from the day gets stored, not sent off to the grid for a few cents.
Evening is when grid power usually costs the most. Running on stored solar can cut that, depending on your usage and tariff.
Summer storms knock out power around SEQ every year. With the right backup setup, a battery can keep selected circuits like the fridge and lights going.
Planning to buy an EV in the next few years? We size with that in mind, not just today's bill.
Most batteries we install come with an app. You can check how full the battery is, and how much power you pulled from the grid today.
Eligible batteries can attract the Australian Government's Cheaper Home Batteries discount. We'll show it on your quote if it applies.
Here's the problem a battery solves. Solar panels stop producing in the late afternoon, right when the oven goes on. Without storage, a lot of your daytime solar gets exported to the grid, usually for a lower rate than you pay to buy power back that night.
A battery closes that gap. How much it's worth depends mostly on your tariff and on how much spare solar you make each day. So we start with your actual usage, not a sales brochure. Sometimes the right answer is a smaller battery than you expected. Sometimes it's adding a few panels first.
Shopping for a battery can be confusing. One of our customers, Anthony, put it this way in his Google review: "The more people I spoke with the more confusing and frustrated I got." He already had solar and wanted a battery to go with it. Our job is to make that part simple.
Straight answers about what a battery will and won't do for your home.
Send us a recent bill or your usage data. When you use power matters as much as how much.
We check whether your inverter and switchboard can take a battery, and where it would sit.
You get a written recommendation showing the battery size and equipment. Any discount you qualify for is listed on it.
Our licensed electricians install the battery and get it talking to your inverter. Most of the work is on one wall and at the switchboard.
We walk you through monitoring before we leave, then follow up with a 30-Day System Health Check.
Not sure a battery suits your home?
Tell us about your solar and your bills. If a battery won't pay its way for you, we'll say so.
Already have solar? You can usually add a battery. How we do it depends mostly on the inverter you have now.
Some systems were set up battery-ready. If the brands and models match, the battery may plug straight into the inverter you already own.
Most older systems do. Here the battery is usually AC-coupled with its own battery inverter, and your existing solar carries on as it is.
If it's near the end of its life, swapping it for a hybrid inverter at the same time can cost less overall than adding a second box to the wall.
We check your switchboard and the wall the battery would go on, and we sort out what the network needs to approve. Installs follow AS/NZS 5139, the Australian standard for battery systems.
We'll tell you which option suits your setup once we've seen it. No guessing from a phone call.
Every battery is sized to the home it's going in. Start here and we'll tailor the system to your usage.
Suits homes and businesses
Not sure what size battery you need?
Send through a recent power bill. We'll work out a size that matches your evening usage and spare solar, not the biggest unit on the shelf.
Equipment is selected to suit your system design and your property.

Thinking about adding a battery? Tell us about your current solar and roughly what your power bills look like. If backup during storms matters to you, mention that too. We'll come back with options that suit your home.

It's a battery that stores electricity for later. Paired with solar, it charges from the power your panels make during the day that your home isn't using. Then it runs your home in the evening or overnight, when the panels have stopped.
In most cases, yes. If you have a hybrid inverter, the battery may connect straight to it. With a standard inverter, we usually add an AC-coupled battery with its own inverter, and your solar keeps working as before.
The age of your inverter matters, and so does the state of your switchboard. We check both before recommending anything.
Not automatically. Many batteries switch off with the grid unless they're set up for backup. Backup needs a compatible battery and inverter, plus wiring that separates the circuits you want kept on, such as the fridge and the lights.
Most backup setups cover selected circuits, not the whole house. If backup matters to you, tell us early. It changes the equipment you need, and the price.
It can. Every kilowatt-hour you use from the battery is one you don't buy from the grid at night. How much you save depends on your tariff and how much spare solar you make. The battery size and the installed cost matter too. We'll give you realistic numbers based on your own bills, not a best-case figure.
For some homes, yes. For others, not yet. It mostly comes down to how much solar you send to the grid during the day, and how much power you buy back after dark.
A battery tends to pay off in homes that export plenty of solar at midday and then pull a lot from the grid at night. Backup during summer storms adds value that never shows up on a bill. If your solar system is small, or the house is empty most evenings, the case gets weaker.
The federal battery discount has made the sums better than they were a few years ago. Still, we'd rather tell you a battery won't pay its way than sell you one that sits half empty. Send us a recent power bill and we'll give you a straight answer.
Look at how much power you use from late afternoon to morning. That's roughly what a battery can cover. It also has to fill up from spare solar, so a big battery on a small solar system often sits half empty.
Backup needs and plans for an EV can push the size up. We work it out from your bills and your solar output.
Yes. The Australian Government's Cheaper Home Batteries Program has applied since 1 July 2025. It works like the solar rebate: eligible batteries create small-scale technology certificates (STCs), which come off the upfront price.
The battery must be on the approved list and installed by an accredited installer, and the discount reduces over time. Queensland state programs come and go, so check what's open before you buy. Your quote will show the discount you're getting.
Most home batteries sold in Australia now use lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells and carry a manufacturer warranty of around 10 years. Capacity drops slowly with use, a bit like a phone battery. Read the warranty's minimum capacity and energy throughput terms for the exact battery you're quoted.
Usually on an outside wall or in a garage, out of direct sun and with enough clearance around it. The Australian standard for battery installations, AS/NZS 5139, rules out some locations, including habitable rooms. We choose a compliant spot during the assessment.
Adding a battery to an existing solar system is usually done in a day. A new solar and battery system together, or a job that needs a switchboard upgrade, can take longer.
We'll tell you how long your job should take when we recommend the system. Network approval has to come through before the system is switched on, so allow for that in your timing.
Yes. A battery changes what's connected to the grid, so the system needs approval from your local network: Energex in Southeast Queensland or Ergon Energy in regional Queensland. Ask our team how this works for your installation.
Many can. A virtual power plant (VPP) lets a retailer or operator use some of your stored energy at busy times, in exchange for credits or payments. Batteries that claim the federal discount must be VPP-capable, but joining one is your choice. Offers differ a lot, so read the terms closely.
Most batteries and hybrid inverters connect to your Wi-Fi and send their data to an app on your phone. You can see how full the battery is, and how much power you're still buying from the grid.
It's the easiest way to spot a problem early. If something stops working, you'll usually see it in the app before you notice it on your power bill. We set the app up and show you how to use it on the day.
Yes, but not because of a "Tier 1" label. There's no official Tier 1 list for inverters or batteries. The term comes from a list of solar panel makers, and it measures how bankable a manufacturer is, not how good its products are.
What matters more is whether the inverter and battery are on the Clean Energy Council's approved product list, which you need to claim the federal discount. Check that the manufacturer has an Australian office to honour the warranty, and that the battery works with your inverter. We only install equipment we're happy to stand behind.
